A team of dynamic tea traders, with a passion for "Tea" put their heads and hearts together to form Empire Teas (Pvt) Ltd. From the humble beginnings of 12 employees and a rented factory complex, Empire Teas has built itself to a family of over 125 members, operating out of a state of the art office and factory complex, facilitating annual exports of 10 -12 million kilos of tea. Empire is also among the top ten exporters of Ceylon Tea.

Green tea
The oxidation process is stopped after a minimal amount of oxidation by application of heat, either with steam, or by heating the pan, the traditional Chinese method. Tea leaves may be left to dry as separate leaves or they may be rolled into small pellets to make Gunpowder tea. This process is time consuming and is typically done with pekoes of higher quality.
